This weekend is going to be big at Thousand Hills. Not only will Mosaic, our ministry for teenagers, start up again. We will have a special guest speaker all the way from Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
His name is Mike Haman. Mike serves as one of the pastors of an amazing church called Healing Place Church (Lead Pastor: Dino Rizzo). Terry Franks, a graduate of their School of Ministry, and Dan Lord, one of the pastors of The Life Church in Memphis, will be joining Mike on his trip.
Leadership training and church planting in Europe
The purpose of Mike’s trip is not only to preach during our service on Sunday. He is on a mission on behalf of his church and the Association of Related Churches (ARC) to see how they can be more involved in missions and church planting in Europe. So one thing we’ll do is discuss ways to start a School of Ministry in conjunction with Thousand Hills that will train leaders who can start and lead churches like ours.
On Monday our Europe Advance Lead Team will fly in to meet with Mike and Dan to talk about intensifying the relationship between ARC and Europe Advance. Both are church planting networks with a very similar vision and ARC is now getting really interested in reaching Europe through church planting. To follow up on the meeting on Monday, I and the others of the Europe Advance Lead Team will be part of the All Access Conference in Baton Rouge from April 5-7.
“Life in the Balance” series continues
This Sunday is a Sunday you don’t want to miss as Mike Haman shares the second message in our Life in the Balance series on how to relate to the world outside the church and introduce Jesus to the community around us.
He will share some amazing stories on how Healing Place Church is impacting Baton Rouge and the world because of the spirit of generosity and servanthood that characterizes the members of this church. They’re a big inspiration for me and I’ll pray that Mike’s input this Sunday will inspire you as well!
